Meme “Disaster Girl'”

The world of collectible tokens is booming.

“Disaster Girl’” Meme

The most famous memes on social networks continue to be all the rage in the non-fungible tokens (NFT) market and the protagonists of those iconic moments earn extraordinary sums of money for selling the rights to their image to large collectors. Zoe Roth , a 21-year-old was photographed outside a burning house in 2005 when she was just 4 years old, she became the latest star of the crypto market .

“ The Disaster Girl ” : this is the name of the Roth photograph that was auctioned on April 16 and acquired by the multimedia company 3F Music for a value of 180 Ethereum (ETH) . That is, about 470 thousand dollars .

Roth watched his image spin around the world for years , and the rise of NFTs gave him a chance to collect his bounty. According to him he declared before the American media, last year they had already offered to sell the rights to his meme, but the offer did not interest him. Today, after dozens of famous images or gifs have sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars, he jumped at the chance .

That a simple photo becomes viral on social networks to the point of being recognized throughout the world, finally had its profit. Being something unthinkable long ago, the 21-year-old sees a fortune of money from collectors “fall from the sky” .

“Being able to sell it just shows us that we have some kind of control, some kind of agency in the whole process,” Roth slipped . Both the young woman and her father (who took the photo) will receive 10% of each future sale that the NTF has .

Is it luck? Is it fate? I have no idea. But I will accept it.

Overly Attached Girlfriend Meme

Another famous meme that became NFT a few weeks ago is the one starring Laina Morris . The young woman was photographed while smiling in a somewhat cynical and forced way, and the image of her was popularized to portray a “ jealous girlfriend ” . On January 1, the well-known photo was sold for 200 ETH , which represented about 524 thousand dollars .
